TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All sales of firearms or serialized lower receivers will be shipped to a local dealer (federal firearms licensee) in your state and are subject to transfer according to federal, state, and local regulations. See section entitled “Serialized Firearm and Lower Receiver Shipments” for more details.
It is your responsibility as the customer to be in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws related to selling, transferring, possessing, transporting or using a firearm in the jurisdiction in which the customer resides. It is also the customer's responsibility to be in compliance with local laws in regards to magazine capacity.
You agree that you are responsible for knowing the laws in your local jurisdiction regarding firearms, AR style rifles and parts, and high capacity magazines. You understand that if you attempt to order anything that is prohibited in your area, Checkmate Rifle Company may cancel the item from the order and you will receive a store credit only in lieu of a cash refund.
Checkmate Rifle Company will restrict shipment of the following items to the following jurisdictions:
All items to the District of Columbia.
All items to the City of Chicago, Illinois.
All items to Aurora, Highland Park, or Cook County, Illinois.
AR parts including lower receivers to Connecticut or Massachusetts.
Complete AR's and AR receivers to the following states:
California
Connecticut
Maryland
Massachusetts
New Jersey
New York
High capacity magazines to the following states:
California
Colorado
Connecticut
Hawaii
Maryland
Massachusetts
New Jersey
New York
Order Cancellation Policy
Orders placed with Checkmate Rifle Company must be canceled by the customer before shipment.
All cancellation requests must be made by email to nick@checkmateriflecompany.com. Please provide the order number and we will respond within 24-48 hours.
If your order has already shipped, the order may not be canceled and the return policy then applies.
Please note that the returns will be made at the customer's expense. Canceled orders may not be reversed. You must place a new order on the website.
Return Policy
Your satisfaction is our priority.
Checkmate Rifle Company is committed to offer you excellent quality and value. We guarantee that you will be completely satisfied with your purchase from checkmateriflecompany.com. If for any reason you would like to return the item(s) you purchased, we will issue a full refund (less shipping) for the purchase price paid, or exchange your item(s), within 30 days of your purchase. To receive a full refund, the item must remain in new, unused, or uninstalled condition. If the item is not in like new condition for resale, we may assess a 15-25% restocking fee at our discretion.
This policy only applies to parts, components, or other merchandise purchased from checkmateriflecompany.com. It does not apply to serialized firearms.
ALL SALES OF SERIALIZED FIREARMS ARE FINAL. Returns will not be accepted.
Once a firearm is transferred to a customer's name, Checkmate Rifle Company will not accept a return or exchange under any circumstance. If a defect is discovered by the customer after shipment and transfer of ownership, the customer must contact Checkmate Rifle Company directly for replacement or repair.
All Other Purchases
Return shipping is the sole responsibility of the customer with the exception of errors made by Checkmate Rifle Company. If the purchased item(s) is defective or damaged upon receipt, or if the customer is not satisfied with a purchased item(s) and wishes to return it for a refund or replacement, the customer may return the item(s) to Checkmate Rifle Company within 30 days of the date of receipt of delivery of the purchased item. Items damaged in shipment must be reported to Checkmate Rifle Company within 3 business days along with photos of the damaged box and merchandise so that we may initiate a claim with the carrier on your behalf.
To Return or Exchange:
Please call us at 720-299-8991 to arrange a return or exchange before sending back your merchandise. Many issues can be resolved over the phone. You can return your merchandise via your common carrier of choice. We require that you use a service that provides tracking information, and highly recommend shipping with insuarnce. Items must be properly packed in their original packaging. We cannot be responsible for loss or damage to incoming packages, so be sure to retain your tracking information. Refunds or exchanges will be issued or sent within 3-5 business days.
Shipping Lead Times:
Most in-stock items will ship within 1-3 business days, with the exception of custom rifle builds, upper assemblies, and other made-to-order items which may take 1-2 weeks to ship. In times of high demand, there may be delays to the normal shipping times but we will post on the website or specific product page when this is the case.

Checkmate Rifle Company does not guarantee the accuracy of our product descriptions, photos, and pricing. While we make every effort to accurately describe our products, errors do occur and we reserve the right to edit or clarify our product listings at any time.
Some portions of this website permit username and passwords to be used. You are responsible for protecting your unique username and password and you agree to be responsible for all activities performed under your user account.
Serialized Firearm and Lower Receiver Shipments:
We Ship only to valid FFL Dealers and you must be 21 or older to purchase a lower receiver or pistol.
The customer is responsible for knowing his/her state laws regarding firearm transfers.
It is very important to contact your local FFL dealer with any questions regarding the sale or transfer of firearms in your jurisdiction. Do this before ordering a firearm to verify their transfer fee and to ensure they will receive your transfer. The customer assumes all responsibility and cost for returned firearms due to FFL refusal.
If you order a pistol, stripped lower receiver, or complete lower receiver, you must be:
- - A legal resident of the state in which you are ordering.
- 21 years of age or older to complete the transfer through your FFL. - Exceptions may be made for military and law enforcement personnel. Your local FFL can advise you in these cases but you are responsible for any costs associated with a failed transfer.
Please follow all directions in the checkout process. Once you have placed your order please have your local FFL Dealer forward a copy of their FFL license to nick@checkmateriflecompany.com. We must receive a copy of the FFL License in order to ship your firearm. If we do not receive your FFL within 48 hours your order will be canceled. A customer may not change the transferring FFL dealer after an order has shipped.
Magazine Ordering Restrictions:
Checkmate Rifle Company abides by all state regulations regarding the sale of high capacity magazines. We will not ship high capacity magazines to the states listed below. We will not replace high capacity magazines with state compliant magazines, and we do not offer refunds in place of those magazines.
It is the customer’s responsibility for understanding and complying with state and local laws regarding magazine capacities.
States and localities with magazine restrictions:
California - no magazines greater than 10 rounds
Colorado - no magazines greater than 15 rounds
Connecticut - 10 Rounds and less with a valid permit
Hawaii - no pistol magazines greater than 10 rounds
Illinois - North Chicago, no rifle magazines greater than 16 rounds
Aurora, Skokie, Chicago, Evanston - no rifle magazines greater than 15 rounds
Highland Park, Cook County, Dolton, Homewood - no rifle magazines greater than 10 rounds
Indiana - South Bend - no magazines greater than 15 rounds
Maryland - no magazines greater than 10 rounds
New Jersey - no magazines greater than 15 rounds
New York - no magazines greater than 10 rounds
Massachusetts - no pistol magazines over 10 rounds and no semi-automatic rifle or semi-automatic shotgun magazines over 5 rounds
